Captain Tom Salls

Captain Tom Salls   

     Tom Salls became a member of the Heard County Fire Dept. in November 2003 as an EMT-I.  Since joining the department he has received the Rookie of the Year award in 2004.  He has also become NPQ1 and NPQ2 firefighter certified.  He became an EMT-P in 2006.  Tom is also one of the Heard County Fire Prevention clowns that teach fire prevention to the youth of the county.  Some of his other accomplishments include:  CPR instructor, NPQ1 instructor and evaluator, bus extrication, and Haz-Mat Ops.

     Tom was raised in Florida.  He graduated from Dunedin High School in 1984.  After several years in the construction business he moved to Georgia.  He met his wife in 1991 and they were married in 1993.  Tom and his wife, Darlene, have 1 daughter.  They also have 1 dog, a Pug.  In his spare time he is an assistant coach for his daughter’s softball team.
