Cody Ivey has worked for Heard County Emergency Services for one year.
He graduated from Troup High School in May 2006. After working as a mechanic, he pursued his career as a firefighter and graduated from LaGrange's Rookie School in November 2007. He is NPQ certified as a Firefighter I and CPR. In addition, he has had training in various fire department related courses such as vehicle extrication and emergency driver safety awareness. He is currently enrolled at West Central Technical College where he is taking the EMT-I course.

Cody's inspiration for becoming a firefighter came from his grandfather, Ron Ashworth, who was a firefighter for LaGrange Fire Department for 28 years. He is recently engaged to Nicole Hill, and they will be getting married in June 2009.
